How Do You Conduct a Group Coaching Session?
Working within a Group Coaching environment helps to create what I call an Energy Grid.
When you are in an energy grid, you have the support of a group. Everything is exponential.
It’s not just my energy to focus but the whole group energy that focuses. My divine team and everybody else’s divine teams help create this soup of energy that’s supporting me and so I have a greater sense of focus.
The same thing happens with my level of confidence – it gets amplified because of the swell of energy of the group behind me that is pushing me forward. I now have the group energy behind me for whatever intentions that I have set for any goal.
It’s amazing how whatever it is that I’m doing in the grid, whether it’s moving forward with a project or making energetic shifts or changing belief patterns, it’s always exponential because I have my loving coaches and my team supporting me in it in ways that I can feel and in ways that I don’t even know.
You can provide this environment for your clients when you conduct Group Coaching sessions. Use the following structure as an example for how you might conduct your first Group Coaching session, which lays the foundation for the energy grid.
You can explore the sample language as you begin to format how Group Coaching can be a part of your business and how it will enhance your empowerment and service to others.
- Start with welcoming the group and introduce yourself and any other assistants you are working with.
- Tell them why they are here (weight loss, business coaching, etc.)
- Make sure you provide the logistical information, or housekeeping details, and be sure to ask if there are any questions before you begin.
As you move into the meat of the session, feel free to begin by facilitating an opening Centering exercise. This is a time for relaxing and making the connection to Spirit or your own inner guidance, your divine team and your inner coach.
It’s also a time for making the connection to everyone else in the group. You are creating the energy grid that you want to be a part of and you contribute the energy of seeing and holding every person involved as they want to be. You strengthen the grid and the connection and create a cradle for the work together.
When you have completed your centering, talk about the power of stating Intentions. State your intentions for the group and what you will do together.
- You may share actions or activities you will engage in
- You may describe the energy grid you are going to create together
- You may identify the feelings and the vibrations that you want to hold and invite others to hold them as well.
- You will talk about what this will activate in the participants and how it might manifest for everyone.
Explain that not everyone will be coached in each session. Your purpose is to take coaching to a bigger place.
Explain to the group that they are all part of a pioneering experience of taking this into a bigger experience and being able to assist people in making shifts at an inner level by being a part of this energy grid.
This means that sometimes you can get even more of it when you are not being coached than when you are the person being coached!
You can sit back and enjoy the experience and feel the shift that the other person is making and you can be making that shift too, because you are intending along with them to make a shift.
Talk about the power of energy grids. You are empowering them to accelerate their ability to be even more effective in accomplishing their goals through activation.
Tell the members of the group that you are going to give them some play work as a kind of homework between sessions.
It’s important to underline the idea of playing! It won’t be the kind of thing where you are segmenting out a lot of time. It’s really activating the processes they are learning in the group.
You’re going to talk a lot about energy because it really is the foundation. It is the first energy connection. You want them to think, “Yes! I’m joining an energy grid. I’m not sure I understand what she’s talking about but it sounds good to me.”
You’re joining an energy grid with the like intentions of people just like you and it will accelerate your ability to be more effective in your life. That’s the first energy connection.
The second energy connection is to share the energies that are here to support your group. Introduce them to other assistants and introduce them to the non-physical team.
The third energy connection that is here to support you is a kind of a non-physical energy. You can call that whatever you want – Source energy, God, or Universal Intelligence.
There is a web of light and love that connects you. You’re all connected in the web already. You’re just bringing to conscious awareness your connection in that web.
It will probably be helpful to discuss Activations in your session. Activations are something that move you deeper, away from your intellectual thinking, your intellectual talk and your intellectual understanding.
Practice Activations for yourself and teach your group to really begin to notice your experiences - to pay attention to how the energy is flowing.
Next in line for your Group Coaching session - Assign the Play Work. Here is an example of some play work you could assign if you have been activating your group on connecting in with their Inner Team:
Before we close for today, there is some play work to be assigned. Now that you’ve activated your team, you want be connecting with your team in a really tangible way.
- If you are driving down the road, ask your team should I turn left?
- Should I go this way?
- Should I try that?
- When you go for lunch, ask should I have tuna fish or chicken noodle soup?
- Just start out with little things like this
You will want to notice what you get back because you want to start opening up this connection so that you can begin to start trusting this team connection on bigger things.
When you can trust in smaller things and you start to realize it, you can open up that connection just like a muscle. A muscle needs to be toned. In order to tone it, there has to be a lot of repetitions.
I want you to have an intentional energy in an automatic way that you will use it throughout the whole day. You’re going to ask your team. You’re going to ask.
Make that connection with your team and write out your day - just as if you’re talking to your coach in a conversational kind of way. There’s nothing too small or too large to put in the hands of your team and to pre-pave that energy and put it out there.
It’s a good idea at this point to give an example of how it can work from your own experience.
For the closing of your Group Coaching session, you want to reinforce the value for the participants. Go around the energy grid and ask everybody what has been valuable and to bring it into the energy grid right now.
What’s been most valuable for you?
Bring it in so that everyone can experience it. You are opening up the ability to communicate in that telepathic way even more powerfully.
Your closing statements might include:
- We are going to have fun!
- We’ve been activated here today.
- You’ll be getting information before your next group coaching session about how we’ll actually be coaching some people together, and then you will all be experiencing that as well.
- We will be coaching some people in every session.
- So we want you to apply this process and we’ll be taking it to the next step in our next session.
- Thank you everybody.
- Have a fantastic rest of your day.
- We see and feel you living a life of joy, peace, love and prosperity!
Tailor your Group Coaching program to fit who you are and what you offer to your ideal clients. Use this as a starting point, and be sure to put your stamp on it. Now go take advantage of that energy grid!

Very nice template, Sharon. You make it easy to feel the grid of which you speak.
