I was recently working with some of the students in my Empowered Spiritual Life Coaching program, and they raised some interesting questions about some of the resistance they were feeling toward some of the tools in the energy management system.
They were asking things like, “How is this any different from positive affirmations? How is this any different from visualizing?”
As coaching students, I was glad they brought this up, because I believe the system I’ve received and teach to others in seeking spirit daily is very different from things like affirmations – which can be wonderful, but not always energetically accessible to everyone!
The spiritual energy management system was given to me as I prayed for answers on how to keep on the right track energetically throughout my day.
What would happen would be that I would meditate in the morning, truly seeking Spirit daily, but by then something would happen and all that peace would just be wiped out by 9:00 in the morning!
I didn’t have a way of getting back on track, so it was kind of like it was all downhill from there energetically. By the end of the day I’d be beating myself up – how did I let it get so bad? I’d be snapping at my husband, snapping at my daughter, snapping at myself for snapping at them…I needed a way to get myself back on the horse energetically so that all of this could just be avoided!
So I prayed and asked, “How do you get yourself out of the quicksand when you get sucked in?”
The guidance that I received was all of the elements of the energy management system. I got them step by step, but of particular importance to me was the perceptual shifting process, which is really just helping yourself to be OK with where you are and then making a small baby step into how you want to feel.
Helping yourself shift just that tiny bit in the moment tremendously impacts how easily you can get out of the ‘quicksand’, and what happens when you keep using this process over and over again is that you avoid even getting into the quicksand in the first place, because you’ll be able to see it ahead of you!
I coached my students to think of it along the same lines as daily hygiene. Take a second now and think about the things you have to do every day when it comes to hygiene: Read the rest of this entry »
